Recent statistics shows that over 4,000 children were adopted in the U.K. Not to mention the number of couples looking to adopt a child, birth parents who plan to have their child adopted, and adoptive families. All these groups need counseling support to cope with the variety of emotional and psychological effects of adoption.
This is exactly why our team exists. We are a non-profit organization of counselors and social workers with personal and professional experience in adoption. We are funded by grants including the Big Lottery, donations from trusts and individuals, as well as partnership arrangements with local authorities across the North of England, including Yorkshire, Humberside, North/North East Lincolnshire, Northumberland, Middlesbrough, Halton, Knowsley, Cheshire West, and Chester.
We offer counseling and support to children who have been adopted, birth parents and relatives, adoptive families and their adopted children, and professionals working in the field of adoption.
To provide better support to these people, we need your support as well. You can become a sponsor or make a donation. Your help will be greatly appreciated and will definitely help the people that After Adoption Yorkshire supports.
